Dr. Carol Gerson, Mohelet, Pediatric Surgeon

Dr. Gerson is a surgeon whose career at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago spanned 26 years, caring for children of all ages, including newborns. She cared for healthy children as well as critically ill and special needs children. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and is on the faculty of Northwestern University. She has earned a Doctorate in Bioethics from Loyola University Chicago's Neiswanger Institute, and teaches bioethics at Northwestern University Medical School. She is married to Rabbi Emeritus Gary S Gerson of Oak Park Temple and has two daughters, Rabbi Jordie Gerson who serves as Senior Rabbi at Greenwich Reform Congregation in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Jessica Gerson who is a social worker in New Orleans, specializing in traumatized young children.
