Dr. Carol Gerson, Mohelet, Pediatric Surgeon

Carol Roberts Gerson, M.D., D.Bioethics, F.A.C.S., F.A.A.P. is a physician, bioethicist, and active mohelet, performing ritual circumcision for Jewish baby boys. Leaving clinical medicine after 26 years in practice as a Pediatric Otolaryngologist at the Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago, she earned her doctoral degree in Bioethics from the Neiswanger Institute of the Stritch School of Medicine of Loyola University Chicago. She has taught at Northwestern University Medical School and is Adjunct Faculty at Tulane University, where she teaches bioethics to medical and graduate students. Dr. Gerson is married to Rabbi Gary S. Gerson and has two daughters, Rabbi Jordie Gerson, and Jessica Gerson, LCSW.
